Hello! Welcome to my home page. Here you will find learning resources relevant to my classes at Rilke Schule German School of Arts and Sciences, as well as information about the after-school clubs which I help coordinate.

Summer News:
In June and July, I was able to participate in a special training in Leipzig, Germany, in which I worked with other American teachers of German to develop curriculum relating to science, technology and math. We visited the Porsche factory, two science museums in Dresden, and were even able to attend a performance of Mahler's 9th symphony at the world-famous Gewandhaus concert hall! I was also able to visit Berlin, Frankfurt, and spent two weekends hiking in the border region between Germany and the Czech Republic called "Saxon Switzerland," which is famous for its sandstone formations and popular climbing routes. I enjoyed good German bread, lots of public transportation, and a daily conversations in German with my colleagues and locals in Leipzig. Being in Germany during the soccer World Championship was an exciting cultural experience. After a busy day of research, writing and tours, my colleagues and I would often go out to a local restaurant for "public viewing" in which the pub brings in a huge TV screen, or several TVs stationed around the establishment, and everybody has a drink or a meal and enjoys the soccer game together. It was a lot of fun to be among all the fans, and to see everybody decked out to celebrate their favorite team.
